I’m Luca Feuerriegel, I was born in Germany but grew up mainly in southern Africa. Initially living in a remote forestry station in north-eastern Namibia for three years, I spent 11 years in Pretoria, South Africa, I was exposed to the diverse and beautiful nature of the region. My interest in birds started when I was very young and I became more committed to birding at age 11, when I started keeping a journal and checklist of the species I saw. I subsequently moved to Sri Lanka and graduated from high school there, giving me the great opportunity to explore the rich avifauna of this region. I studied in the Netherlands, where the frequency of birding outings became infrequent due to various academic and social happenings. Having finished my BSc, I’m currently working in Germany before commencing with my Master’s degree, trying to jam in as much birding as possible in the meantime.
